Submissions and Publishing
How to Get Published
You can’t publish your book without submitting your manuscript for review. This is the first step in sharing your book with the world. Whether you have a novel, poetry collection, memoir, children’s book, or other genre, it must first be approved by us.
At Lingua Ink Books, we charge nothing to review your manuscript. If we receive an overwhelming number of submissions in the future, we may introduce a reading fee. We accept submissions from both individual authors and literary agents.
Books submitted should be publication-ready. While we do not offer in-house editing, we can recommend experienced editors to help polish your work before submission.
While our catalog leans toward women’s fiction, romance, memoir, and poetry, we are especially eager to publish LGBTQ+ voices and Pacific Northwest authors. We currently publish books in English only.
Production & Design Services
Lingua Ink creates your cover design, formatting, ISBN registration, Library of Congress submission, digital proofs, and marketing assets.
Bringing a book to life requires expert attention at every step. Authors are responsible for covering the cost of physical production, which typically ranges from $500 to $2,000 depending on the length and complexity of the book. We guide your manuscript through a structured process that includes:
- Custom Illustrations: If needed, we manage artwork tailored to your book’s vision.
- Cover Design: Crafting a compelling, market-driven cover that attracts readers.
- Print & eBook Preparation: Formatting and converting your manuscript into high-quality print and digital editions.
Grant of Rights
Lingua Ink Books has exclusive rights to price and sell the book. Authors can receive copies at a reduced rate to sell on their own if they choose.
Marketing Support
Authors receive marketing assets (images for social media) and a listing on the Lingua Ink website, Amazon, and Ingram’s distribution network.
Printed Copies
Authors receive three complimentary paperback copies on publication. They are responsible for shipping costs for physical copies they sell directly.
A Timeline for Deliverables, Approval, & Completion
This timeline is negotiable on an author-by-author basis to accommodate different publishing needs.
